10 places for taking engagement photos in Costa Rica
Many couples ask me for places to do engagement sessions that are not so far from the metropolitan area, so I put together a list of beautiful, private and safe places to have a romantic, quiet session and relatively close to San José, Heredia or Cartago. 🙂
- Hotel Bougainvillea: Located in San Joaquin, Heredia, it is close to San José and has a lot of garden with flowers, so peaceful and quiet.
- Hotel Chalet el Tirol: One of the favorite hotels for weddings, it has a cute houses, flowers and color, is is located in Heredia, Tirol, the weather is cold but with a lot of nature.

- Parque Prusia: Close to the Sanatorio in Cartago, it is a national park, quiet, safe and beautiful, with a lot of walkind trails and trees, they close at 4:00 pm.
- Playa Guacalillo: Close to Jaco Beach, there are this amazing, dramatic and different place, you can have rocks, beach and forest!
- Turrialba CATIE: Turrialba is amazing, you can go to Catie or Hacienda Sitio de Mata, they are amazing!
- Else Kientzler Garden:
- Barrio Zurquí: Located near to San José, in 32 street it is like a dream, like being in the hobit place, if you want to find it, you have to put in Waze Calle Sur Key 0r Chocolatería Sibu.
- Playa Esterillos: It has amazing sunset, a lot of space for walking and if you have luck you can have pictures like a mirror!
- Cachí y la Casona del Cafetal: The Cachí area is amazing and La Casona del Cafetal, has a lake and a beautiful tree, it is perfect for romantic sessions.
